Amy Campion

Amy Campion is a writer, broadcaster and  community storyteller who helps people and organisations find honest, human language for the things that matter most.

“No matter what anybody tells you, words and ideas can change the world.”

– John Keating, Dead Poets Society

Ok, so maybe you don’t want to change the entire world. Maybe though, you do want to change your corner of it. That’s where I can help. From getting clear on what you want to achieve through crafting a strategic plan through to writing the copy that will engage, inspire and motivate, I can help you with the entire process of just the parts of it you need.

I work alongside values-driven organisations, schools, community groups and social enterprises to:

  • help people feel safe and confident to share their own stories
  • shape ethical, impact-focused communications
  • turn “good but clunky” writing (including AI-generated drafts) into warm, human-centred words that sound like you.

My background crosses strategic planning, copywriting, broadcasting, community leadership and youth theatre. I’ve spent years working with not-for-profits, local charities and community organisations on the Mornington Peninsula – including hands-on work with children, young people and families through theatre, radio and respite programs.

Whether we’re crafting a story-making workshop for kids, reworking your organisation’s impact report, or finding the right tone for your next campaign, my aim is the same: to honour real people, real experiences and real care in every sentence.

My services include:

  • Story-making workshops for children, teens and adults (schools, not-for-profits, community groups and holiday programs like Saltbush).
  • Community storytelling & impact narratives: gathering and shaping real stories from participants, clients and communities for reports, funding, websites and campaigns.
  • Ethical communications consulting for NFPs, charities, social enterprises and values-driven businesses – messaging, tone of voice, and “does this align with our values?” sense-checking.
  • Human-centred editing in the age of AI: turning rough or AI-generated drafts into clear, grounded writing that sounds like your unique brand voice (not like “the internet”).
  • Marketing and communications planning for purpose-driven organisations who want structure without losing heart.
  • Articles, features and long-form writing that tell nuanced, human stories.
  • Emcee, presentations and workshops on storytelling, ethical communication and human-centred use of AI.

I work with:

  • Values-driven businesses and organisations
  • Not-for-profits and charities
  • Social enterprises
  • Schools and education projects
  • Creative individuals, artists and sole traders
  • Community groups and local initiatives
